Week 40 Sunday update – some work on the radar

Despite the longer weekend not much really got done due time other commitments. The horizontal beam is now ok and has had a bar attached and is ready to prime. The turntable is also attached to the main base and the control cabin is also done. The pivot bar I broke is nearly repaired also after I managed to lose half of it on the floor. I may get some small bits of work done this week as there are a few small things I can do.

In the background you can see some bits from the Huma Ta 283 which got a little sanding on the engines when I had a chance.

Week 39 Sunday update – it’s not worth seeing

A very small amount of fettling has been done including cutting out one resin piece. Work unfortunately intervened today and by the time I finished the mojo had disappeared.

Tomorrow is a public holiday and provided the external people do nothing I should have no work to do.

Week 38 Sunday update – almost in control

The control hut consists of 6 separate parts that you’ve got to try and get together as best you can.

It requires a bit of fettling but it’s mostly done with a little bit of Plastic Putty. I’ve also been cleaning up selected parts but managed to have the screw ping off into the distance which has had to been replaced by something similar from the spares box.

Week 37 Sunday update – it’s some progress

Just some sanding cutting and a little filling to get these parts ready so far. The two on the bottom still need some work.

Week 36 Sunday update – it’s just a new kit

One of those weeks where no modelling was done. Got a new kit and that’s about it and finally some birds.

Week 35 – Sunday no Monday update – it’s on my radar

Mostly did work on my new Brengun 1.144 Wurzberg. As expected with Brengun it’s a nice kit. Have done some clean-up at least.

Don’t worry it won’t last long.

Week 34 Sunday update – it’s done

It’s become obvious in this last stage that I really should have done this in a different sequence. Putting the fuel tank on the back of the truck caused many swear words compounded by me trying not to knock anything off at the same time and keep it roughly square. I should have assembled most of it then painted then did the final assembly but as I do trucks so rarely it tends to be a learning experience each time.

After lots of wrestling and knocking the rear doors off a few times it’s finally done. It’s not too bad especially from a few inches back, up close not so much.

This is the first kit completed for the year and I may get one more done before I head off overseas on holiday.

Next week another care package from BNA will arrive.

I did a little more on the Ta 283 starting to box in the main u/c bay with plastic strip. It’s just too much of a look through effect for me not to do this. Not enough to bother witha photo though.
