Mon Sept 21 –  Started the week with a bit of masking on the Raumer S. I was originally going to follow the What if splinter camo paint scheme in the instructions. In the end they were used as inspiration only.

I had forgotten how long it takes to mask splinter camo so it seemed to take half the day to finish this. I set it up so that the Red brown was first which is mostly the sides and undersides.

This was followed by a green mostly on the top but some on the sides also.

I ran into some issues with painting the camo with a lot of leakage under the tape being my fault.

Fortunately with using Tamiya rattle can yellow as the base coat  most of these were able to be removed by either finger nail or Vallejo thinner and Q tips.

There was some yellow removed but just a few spots. A respray for some bits will be required next week. In the meantime the pads will be painted along with the exhaust pipes.

Sept 29 – mojo had departed after doing the first part of the repairs with the result that more hours were spent playing Baldurs Gate on my old PS2 than modelling.

Started my efforts with hand painting the pads as a bit of a palette cleanser.

Still got a few rounds to go on this as the inside of the pads need to be done as can be just seen on the upper middle wheel.

So at the end of of September I have somehow managed to finish four kits and be well along with the fifth.
